Strictly come dancing fans can look forward to starting 2019 on a high note as the 2019 strictly come dancing live tour begins on the 18th of January 2019 in Birmingham. The live tour will go through cities like Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Sheffield, Nottingham and Wembley before thrilling the London fans at the O2 arena in London for the final shows on the 9th and 10th of February 2019.

For the 2019 season, fans can look forward to their favourite couples making a return to the show, unfortunately, this will not include Kevin Clifton who has some other unavoidable commitments. Couples like Dr Ranj Singh and Janeta Manrara, Joe Sugg and Diane Buswell, and Stacey Dooley and Aljaz Skojanec have already been confirmed to make an appearance in 2019. Craig Revel Horwood will be the director of the 2019 tour, he will be working with a lot of familiar faces from the 2018 season, so fans can expect a lot of chemistry on stage.

The 2019 season of Strictly is poised to be just as breath-taking as the past seasons with lots of dazzling moves, music and cheer. The power, as always will be with the audience as they will be the ones to vote for their best couples until the champions are crowned at the end of the season. The result from the viewers’ votes is usually combined with the ranking of the judges. From the live tours to the seasonal and charity specials, and everything in between, strictly come dancing has always lifted spirits all over the UK with the spectacle of the magical dazzling stage and spectacular performances, no wonder the Strictly come dancing fans keep coming back for more.

Strictly Come Dancing fondly called “Strictly” is a dance contest in which professional dancers and celebrities pair up and compete on stage with other pairs. The couples compete mainly in ballroom and Latin style dances; they are then scored by a panel of judges.

Strictly come dancing is a family show, meant for wholesome family entertainment. The professional dancers as well as the celebrities that appear on stage always strive for extraordinary performances that are suitable for all ages.

It was first aired on BBC One on the 15th of May 2004 and has since aired primarily on Saturday evenings and results at night on Sundays. The show has maintained a significant fan base throughout the UK over the period of a staggering 16 series. The 2018 series of strictly come dancing was concluded on the 15th of December 2018.

The Strictly Come Dancing stage has been graced over the years by a whole lot of iconic celebrities and professional dancers which has since made the show one of the most highly grossing shows in the UK. The show has gained so much popularity in fact that there are versions of it with little or no difference in over 40 countries all over the world.

Strictly come dancing often has some special editions every year, these specials have also been aired on the BBC, the specials range from Christmas specials, charity specials and other variations of the usual “strictly” format. The 2018 Christmas special was aired on 25th of December 2018 at 17:30 local time. The show has a “children in need” special each year, for raising funds less privileged children.

At the beginning of the year 2008, Strictly went on tour for the first time. Hosted by Kate Thornton, and judged by Craig Revel Horwood, Arlene Phillips, and Len Goodman, the Strictly come dancing tour started in Glasgow and ended in Birmingham on the 19th of February 2008. The live tour has since then become a much highly anticipated annual event taking cities by storm all over the UK, with a massive turnout at each event, it is clear that the fans can’t get enough of the magic that comes with the live performances.

Tickets for the Strictly live shows often fly off the shelves, so it’s probably more advisable to buy the tickets just as soon as the sales begin to avoid the disappointment of not being able to get a ticket a few days to the show.

The show has won the prestigious Rose d’Or award for the best variety show, this feat was achieved despite the competition from reality shows from 12 other different countries. The show has also received two TRIC awards for “best reality show” and another two at the TV Quick awards for “best talent show”. Strictly has also won five National Television Awards for “most popular talent show” in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

Over the years, many couples have won the Glitterball trophy as they were crowned the series winners for that year. In the first and shortest series, Natasha Kaplinsky & Brendan Cole were the series winners after 8 weeks of competition. The show has since then produced winners like Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett, Darren Gough and Lilia Kopylova, Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy, Alesha Dixon and Matthew Cutler, Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup, Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan, Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev, Harry Judd and Aliona Vilani, Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace, Abbey Clancy and Aljaž Škorjanec, Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev, Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani, Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton, Joe McFadden and Katya Jones, Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton in that direct order from the first to the 16th series which was concluded in December 2018.

In the 2018 season, Strictly Come Dancing audiences were thrilled by the introduction of three new dance styles: contemporary, jazz, and street. These new styles were placed in a new category called the “couple’s choice” driving up the total number of dance styles in the competition to a whopping 18. The dances featured on the show include the waltz, Cha Cha Cha, Quickstep, Rumba, Tango, Jive, Foxtrot, Paso Doble and samba which were all featured from the first season. Other dances like the American Smooth and Vietnamese waltz, salsa and Argentine Tango, swing-a-thon, waltz-a-thon, contemporary, jazz and street were all introduced over the years.
